Tieqiang Zhang,Associate Professor of Horticulture.

Graduated from Beijing University of Agriculture in 1983; Currently Associate Professor at Department of Horticulture of College of Plant Science and Technology, advisor of graduate students (master’s degree), Expert Committee Member of China Jujube Website, Council Member of Beijing Rural Specialized Technology Society, and Member of Agriculture Expert Team of Beijing Science and Technology to the Countryside.

 Research interests includeresearch of variety resources of Beijing jujube and promotion of breeding of new variety.

Presided over and participated in projects about fruit tree planting technique of State Forestry Administration of China, Beijing Gardening and Greening Bureau, Beijing Education Commission, and Beijing Science and Technology Commission.

Honors and awards include 2nd Prize of National Science and Technology for the project “Study and Demonstration of Effective Ecological Control Technology of Jujube Forest” in 2010, 1st Prize of Beijing Science and Technology for the project “Study and Demonstration of Acaricidal from Active Substances in Plants” in 2011, Certificates of China Ministry of Education Scientific and Technological Achievements for the project “Study and Demonstration of Key Technology about Fruit Quality and Ecological Security in Beijing Mountainous Areas” and the project “Research of Influence of Intercropping on Pests and Ecological Environment in Organic Tourism Orchard” in 2010, National Award of Outstanding Individual for Country Development through Science and Education, and Outstanding Individual Award for Popularization of Science in Beijing.

 Representative achievements includelead author of the books “Beijing Fruit Records: Volume of Jujube” and “Jujube Tree Planting”, author of the book “Fruit Pests and Integrated Pest Management”; presided over the drafting of National Occupation Standard for “Agricultural Experimental Worker”, participated in the drafting of National Agricultural Industry Standard for “Pollution-free Food: Fresh Grapes” and Beijing Local Standard for “Pollution-free Production Technology of Jujube”.
