Team from Universidade de São Paulo Visits BUA

On the morning of June 19, at the invitation of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of BUA, Professor Luiz Gustavo Nussio, CAU-USP Joint College coordinator, and Professor Joao Roberto Spotti Lopes, an expert at plant protection, from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) visited BUA. Yang Baodong, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, met the guests, and both sides held talks on bilateral exchanges and cooperation. Guo Kaijun, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, and Professor Du Yanli from the College of Bioscience and Resource Environment attended the meeting.

 

Director Yang Baodong, on behalf of BUA, extended warm welcome to the visiting experts from Brazil, and gave constructive suggestions concerning the future cooperation and exchanges between the two sides on scientific research, academic exchanges, faculty and students exchange, and joint cultivation of talents. Guo Kaijun outlined BUA’s general information as well as its efforts in talent training, discipline building, and international exchanges and cooperation. Professor Nussio gave an introduction to USP, as well as the School of Agriculture in terms of teaching, scientific research and social services, with a special focus on its cooperation with China. The two sides discussed the plan on further cooperation in detail, expecting deeper collaboration between the two universities on talent cultivation, scientific research and application for scientific research projects, so as to jointly drive the advancement of science and technology in both China and Brazil. In addition, the experts present at the meeting also conducted in-depth exchanges on the research in frontier areas like animal science and entomology.
